Spring is in the air

Saturday afternoon walk is just as good as the morning walk! Mom has good stamina and desire to walk, especially the path that she is familiar with. Around the park, around the school field, around the front, and back down to home. It was a pleasant walk.

Such good energy today

Mom was so happy and so excited to see me! She kept repeating my name and thanking me for coming over! We walked and she told me that Saeed is coming over, she told me that khaleh was there earlier -- both true! We ate dinner together and she was all smiles :-)

Dad says he's giving her high doses of vitamin C these days.

Mom meeting

Every 6 weeks or so, we have a check-in meeting with dad and sisters. Mom stays home with the grandkids while we're meeting. Today was one of those days. We discussed the various challenges that dad is dealing with and came up with some plans. We then wrapped up and headed over to see mom. She was very happy to see us and was very engaged. She was also hungry as she hadn't wanted to eat with the kids, but when we arrived she had 3 slices of pizza (and so did Max)!

Quick morning visit

I joined mom and dad for breakfast this morning. Mom was in very good spirits. She had a good appetite and she was happy to walk with dad this morning. So I headed home.

Lots of visitors today

She was home alone. I rang the new doorbell which sounds like a loud telephone chime. It confused her as she was wondering who was calling. We went for a walk. She was asking where everyone was. We saw Marjan and Tom at the park and visited a bit. We got home right before dad. Then Mojdeh came over for a visit. She was delighted to see Mojdeh!

Family dinner

We have our Tuesday night family dinner, without fail. This night we celebrated Fee Fee's birthday. Judy was visiting from Iowa. Mom got antsy early this time, around 7pm!

Breakfast of champions

Let myself in early this morning. Mom was upstairs peering down. She greeted me by name! Dad was already in the garden. We had the same breakfast feast. Mom she a little less than the previous day, but was still engaged. When she felt she couldn't help out downstairs, she would head upstairs to "organize" her closet.

Later that day we went to Nikki's birthday pool party. She was happy to see all the familiar faces but didn't really remember us by name. She stayed close to dad and was ready to leave after about an hour. 

Now you see her...

The house was quiet on this Saturday morning. I let myself in. Mom was fast asleep. Said "hi" to dad. Made some noise downstairs in kitchen to get breakfast going. In an instant mom was standing before me fully dressed and groomed, excited to see me. We had a FEAST of a breakfast... sunny side up eggs, grapefruit, bread, honey, nuts, almond milk, mint tea. Mom was happy, she helped out.

Just checking in

Went to visit after work. Arrived at parents, rang bell, door was unlocked. Went in and was greeted by a big warm loving smile from mom and an invitation to come in. Mom was in kitchen and happy to see me. Dad was outside tending to the garden. Went for a walk with mom, talked about my dental appointment, Sousan buying a house in Temecula, and all the cars parked along the street. It was warm but windy. She said she should have brought her headscarf. It was a nice walk. She knew that dad was at hope working away! She wa not anxious at all. She was in good spirits.

Antsy today

Went to check in because of how mom was disconnected the previous night. She was very antsy and anxious to get of the house. We went for a nice walk and by the time we got back, she was more relaxed.

Out of it

It was a typical family dinner, but mom was not in the mood to eat or even pretend to participate. She seemed "out of it." By 8pm, she wanted to "go home" and pretty upset about it. It concerned everyone.
